Back to Basics at NAB – The Short Stack

Edition 4

Friends,

We had so many amazing conversations with broadcasters large and small at the NAB Show Centennial in Las Vegas. Like the 99 NAB shows before it, there was a lot of focus on bright, shiny objects – the new innovations that will help those broadcasters continue to engage massive audiences and grow their businesses.

We were no exception – for example, showcasing our new automated royalty reporting (starting with SoundExchange, expanding to other performing rights organizations shortly). Still, for many attendees – including many of the mid-sized audio publishers we spoke with – a focus on fundamentals was equally important. It comes down to efficiency; in an era when resources are more constrained, how can leaner broadcast teams continue to come through for listeners the same way they always have, without the slog of a lot more manual work?

This is still about innovation, mind you, but innovation that feeds the basics of reliable audio publishing – a clean listening experience that stems from dedicated networks, close proximity to listeners, automation for speed, and a lot more.

We’re doing our part by making it easy to establish and maintain that foundation – our own Heather Smith shows you how in less than three minutes here

Have a look, and as always, please reach out to talk about any of the above.

Layers on the stack
Ultimately, it’s about the people

SoundStack is filled with critical technology that makes growing in digital audio simple for publishers, advertisers, networks, platforms, and more. Part of that is because, while those innovations tackle really complex problems, they’re really easy to use. But even the most intuitive tech needs really smart, reliable people to ensure that customers get the most out it.

From the experts guiding client engagements to the engineers who keep the engine humming, our Stackers themselves are THE most essential layer on the Stack.
