As you’ve seen, we put a lot of focus on audio creators over here. That’s not to say that every player in digital audio – networks, platforms, advertisers, and more – isn’t equally important. But none of us would be doing what we’re doing without the creator – the maker of the feast. With that, many of us develop our businesses in ways that help to ensure they keep doing what they’re doing.
This month, we focus that lens on recording artists and two new initiatives that help support them.
Both advancements – one for SoundStack and the other for our sister company Live365 – simplify the broadcaster’s life. SoundStack Insights now automates performance royalty reporting, streamlining a process that used to give broadcasters a hearty dose of agita every month. Live365 now covers Global Music Rights (GMR) licensing, making it easy for stations to play the likes of Lizzo, George Harrison, and other legends without getting mired in the mechanics of licensing.
But both initiatives do just as much for artists and songwriters. Automated royalty reporting brings both accuracy and speed, so artists (and other rights holders) get paid fairly and quickly for bringing so much joy to the world. Likewise, simplified licensing ensures that artists are supported properly with every play.
